Embroidery Hoops - SRM Stickers

Hello! Today I am up on the SRM Stickers blog with a home decor project. I had three embroidery hoops in various sizes on hand and decided to fill them with pretty paper:

I added washi tape, SRM Stickers, and a bit of mist.

These pretty papers are by DCWV, from the Magnolia Way stack. To fill the hoops, I used the inside hoop to trace a circle onto the patterned paper. Then I drew another circle around that, about 1/4 inch larger. I cut out the circle using the outside line as a guide, and then I used my scissors to snip into the circle from the outside edge to the inner circle. Many, many snips later, the paper is able to "curve" and fit into the hoop nicely.

Nature - SEI

I was playing with a filter on my Camera+ app when I took a photo of a rose in my front yard. I loved the way the colors flared, and when I had the photo printed, I realized it matched the Diane collection by SEI perfectly!

I pulled a few of my favorite patterns from the 6x6 pad to back the photo. I created the background by using mists like watercolors on watercolor paper. The warping of the watercolor paper made the layout hard to photograph - other than that, I love it!

The gold washi tape and gold glitter dots are from SEI's Holiday Traditions line - I love using up that Christmas stash on everyday layouts :). The airmail washi is from my own stash.

I used gold foil cardstock by DCWV to cut out my title and the leaves with my Silhouette Cameo.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my page. Enjoy your day! Tessa

SMASH Sunday - Loving...

Hello! On Wednesday I shared with you the first pages of my SMASH words book, inspired by word prompt flair from {a flair for buttons}. You can see that post here. Today, I am sharing the rest of the "loving..." pages:

I went with an orange/navy/pink color palette for this page spread about Spring. Not typical Spring colors, but I still love the combination. I used a die-cut card by Dear Lizzy as the focal point on the left side.

The right side features a glassine bag by SRM Stickers, as well as some SRM sticker sentiments. I added bits and pieces to the outside and placed my photos inside the bag.

The next page has a very different color palette - light pink, teal and tan. I wanted this page spread to be especially girly.

I used some things I'd been hoarding in my SMASH stash, such as a clothing label, vintage wallpaper, and a paint chip:

On the other side I wanted some semi-private space for journaling, so I adhered a card that you can open to read.

This beautiful flair is by {a flair for buttons}. I thought it was a perfect match :).

I'm adding more close-ups and views of these pages to my flickr photostream here. Join me next Sunday for more pages. I haven't decided which book I'll be playing in this week, but I'm itching for some SMASHing time and will definitely have a lot to share. Thanks for stopping by! Tessa
